Five years ago today (June 6, 2009), my beautiful bride and I said “I do” to each other. Together we signed up for this beautiful thing called marriage, and what a journey we have been on! The last half-decade we have been youth pastors (best job ever!), college students, graduate students, social workers, worship pastors, and now parents. I want you to know, Paige, how much of a joy it has been being your husband these past five years, even in the midst of the trials and grief that have come our way. You have made it bearable; you have made it joyful; you have made me one happy hubby!
I am constantly amazed at your perseverance, faithfulness, love, and compassion for me, our son, our families, and all our friends and acquaintances. Christ is truly alive and well in your life. He radiates through you, and it is my joy to watch you love him and his people more and more each day. I have learned so much from you about love, life, serving, and most of all, following Jesus.
And now at this point in our marriage, we are officially Wilmorans 🙂 I mean we’ve been here five years and have another five years to go (though you’ve been here nine, and will have been here fourteen before its all over!). And my prayer to the Lord is that these next five in Wilmore will be even more fruitful, even more joyful, filled with even more of Jesus’ love, presence, and guiding hand. I love you with all of my heart. You are my best friend forever! Happy anniversary sweet heart.
